Donington Preview

This weekend heralds the end of another eventful Britcar season for the Neil Garner Motorsport team and their Mosler. The team return to Donington Park for the annual night race at the East Midland circuit needing two wins and some good fortune to clinch the overall Britcar Championship title.

Having taken first and third place at the last meeing at Donington the team and driver pairing of Javier Morcillo and Manuel Cintrano know that they can deliver the results required but overturning the 22 point deficit to championship leader Calum Lockie will require a special effort. As the only car contesting class 1 the team are guaranteed extra points as class winners so hopes are still very much alive of taking the overall championship assuming the team finish both races.

Two victories will throw the championship wide open meaning the FF Corse Ferrari would need to finish at least in second place in both races to take the overall win. With a large and competitive class 2 field to fight through it won't be plain sailing for the Ferrari team.

Preparations for the race have been routine with just the addition of lights for the night race and race decals on the nose of the car courtesy of Michael Wright Signs who also designed the new team logo. The team have been at the circuit since Thursday conducting routine set up runs and allowing Javier a little extra coaching time with Manuel.

Race 1 starts at midday on Saturday with race 2 starting after night fall at 6pm.
