Pole and a Win at Brands Hatch

The Neil Garner Motorsport team completed another successful race weekend with a dominant victory at Brands Hatch in Kent. The team, running the Azteca/Strata21 Mosler MT900, started the race on pole position and despite a 20 second 'success penalty' from previous victories lead the race from start to finish.

After qualifying on pole 0.485 seconds ahead of the Bailey/Schulz Ferrari F430, Javier Morcillo started the race from the front and immediately set about building a lead. Morcillo completed his personal best lap with a time of 46.837 seconds on lap 22 and on lap 73 he brought the Mosler in for it's only pit stop in the 2 hour race 2 laps ahead of their nearest class 1 challenger, the Rapier SR2 of Michael Millard and Ian Heward.

Due to the shortened race time Morcillo's long time driving partner Manuel Cintrano opted to sit out the race leaving Paul White to take over in the Mosler. After completing the pit stop and the race under a safety car White rejoined the track still holding the lead. After the safety car pulled in White settled into his rhythm and began setting consistent times in the low 49's and setting a personal best time of 48.474 on lap 118.

Once again the Neil Garner Motorsport prepared car ran faultlessly for the entire race and on lap 135 Paul White took the flag, making it two wins in a row for the team. “We were helped by the safety car, it came out at just the right time, and with a 20-second pit-stop success penalty, we needed to keep the stops down” said White.

Reflecting on the teams third win of the season, team boss Neil Garner said, “Another good solid run for the team and drivers, reliability is key plus the drivers staying out of trouble and of course the car needs to be quick and consistent to stay ahead. A big thanks to both the team members and the drivers for their hard work so far and were looking forward to Manuel joining us again at Oulton where we will be looking for another win”.

The team is now preparing to visit Oulton Park for the fifth round of the championship on June 23rd where they look forward to continuing their excellent form this season.
