3rd place result for Spa 1000km!

The annual event of the 1000km of Spa Francorchamps last weekend turned out to be a tough race for the team. Having spent more than half an hour in the pits following an accident that heavily damaged the front of the Formula Le Mans car, the mechanics and drivers did their best to chase the other runners in the class, in the hope to score points for the Le Mans Series championship. A 4th place finish was the end result; not the best that the team could hope for however, as the Oreca 09 car had started on pole position for the 6 hour race, and a win had been the original target.

Yesterday however, news was received that the winner of the Spa 1000km race had been disqualified from the results, following scrutineering, which meant that the team would be classed in 3rd place, taking 11 points instead of 9, (plus one point for pole position)! Neil Garner Motorsport lies 3rd in the championship, whilst preparation undergoes for the next race at Imola, in July.
