Race part 1

An hour into the race and already many events have happened: - The first lap was a disaster for the GT cars: the safety car stayed out after the formation lap to complete a second, although the teams did not appear to understand, the lights turned green - hence the cars started the race with the safety car still on track. Battles for first place could be seen, as between the GT Porsches. Phil Keen, who started the race in the Oreca 09, just managed to escape the collisions and debris from behind. Two minutes later, the green flag lap resumed the race, and Phil Keen found himself 13th overall, 2nd in class. - A few laps later, he overtook the Formula Le Mans of Hope Racing to gain 1st place. (Meanwhile thanks to the safety car, the Pescarolo team had jumped from last to first!) - Lap 14: Neil Garner Motorsport enters the top 10, first in class and a comfortable gap in front of the next LMPC car. The Rebellion car number 13 sets the fastest lap of the race. - Lap 16: Phil Keen is 15 seconds away from the car in front, an Oreca 03 LMP2, not bad for a Formula Le Mans car.
